Welcome to The Terrace Apparel. We create stylish, comfortable and timeless clothing that can be worn on the terraces, in the office or about town. Our minimalistic embroidered designs capture the most iconic celebrations, the infamous match winning moments and those legendary fan favourites! The perfect tribute to your sporting hero.
I’m Lee, the proud owner. And this is my story about turning an alcohol fueled New Years Eve dream into a clothing brand reality!
A lockdown dream...
It was January 2021, and the UK was in another Covid-19 enforced national lockdown. I was bored of dark nights and sitting around watching awful TV. Like everyone, I just wanted for the world to get back to some degree of normality. I was fortunate enough to still be in full-time work. But I wanted to use the free time I had to try something new.
My working life has been spent in marketing, but my real passion has always been for sports. Whether it’s playing, watching, or reading, it’s pretty much all I ever do with my free time. Much to my partners annoyance! I wanted to capture my shared passion for sports and combine it with my marketing background and passion for business.
I felt that there was an opportunity for a new clothing brand. One that allowed you to show-off your favourite team, or sporting hero, but was also fashionable and something for you to be proud of. A clothing brand that would get people stopping you on the terraces, in the office, or about town and asking you where you got it from. Or better still, stopping to reminisce about your shared admiration for a sporting hero or iconic moment. A clothing brand for every occasion.
And so, my idea for The Terrace Apparel was born. A clothing brand for men and women to proudly show-off their iconic sporting hero.
The start of something special...
First of all, I started drawing out a couple of designs, including the likes of Solksjaer, Best and Henry, and shared a t-shirt mock-up with a couple of different friendship groups.
To my dismay, they loved them, and started asking how they could get one! Then, I spent the next few months sourcing an ethical manufacturer and local suppliers. People who could help me turn my new idea into a reality. By March, I had a transactional website. I was selling through social media. And, I was shipping t-shirts all around the world!
Fast forward to today, and The Terrace Apparel now has a range of t-shirts and sweatshirts for over 100 iconic sporting heroes. There is something for every sport fan, with designs across football, cricket, rugby and more. As well as the UK, my clothes have been worn in Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. I’ve been blown away by your support for the brand, honestly!
