That’s what the best darts walk-on songs do. They turn a player into a chant. Here are ten of the greatest, from Bunting’s singalong and Luke Littler’s Pitbull anthem to the riff that gave Michael van Gerwen his own terrace song, with the stories behind how each one was picked.

Stephen Bunting, Titanium by David Guetta ft Sia

For years The Bullet walked on to Surfin’ Bird by The Trashmen, the song most fans know from Family Guy. Bunting has since admitted he was paid to use it, and that he ended up worrying more about the walk-on than the darts. So he changed it, and there was only ever one choice. Titanium was his son Tobi’s favourite song.

By December 2023 Ally Pally was singing it back at him, word for word, with a new chant on top. “Let’s go Bunting mental” started life as a hashtag from his manager and ended up bellowed by thousands. A month later the St Helens thrower beat Michael van Gerwen 11-7 to win the Masters, his first PDC major, and the People’s Champion was born. It’s spread well beyond darts too. In April 2026 the Coventry City squad sang Titanium with him in their dressing room after sealing promotion to the Premier League.

It’s the best singalong in the sport, and it’s exactly what my Stephen Bunting t-shirt captures, ears cupped as the crowd takes over.

Luke Littler, Greenlight by Pitbull

Luke Littler picked his walk-on years before he’d thrown a dart on TV. In 2017 he went to WrestleMania 33 in Orlando with his dad, heard Greenlight and sang his head off as a ten-year-old. He decided there and then that if he ever made it, in darts or in football, that would be his song.

He made it all right. In December 2023 he walked out to Greenlight for his Ally Pally debut, averaged 106.12 to beat Christian Kist 3-0, and heard the crowd remind him he had school in the morning. A few weeks later he was in the world final at 16. He became the youngest world champion in history in January 2025, then retained the title in January 2026.

Not everyone’s sold on the song. ESPN ranked it ninth in its list of the best walk-ons and called the choice a letdown. Littler hasn’t budged, and when you’ve won two world titles walking out to it, you probably don’t need to. My Luke Littler t-shirt is my tribute to The Nuke.

Michael van Gerwen, Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes

Some walk-ons are about the song. This one is about the chant that came with it. Van Gerwen has explained that the riff picked up his name the same way it picked up Robin van Persie’s at Old Trafford, and now every arena he plays in rings with it before, during and after his matches.

It suits him. Mighty Mike won the PDC World Championship in 2014, 2017 and 2019 and spent years as world number one, and the stomping riff fits a player who walked on expecting to win. The Michael van Gerwen t-shirt is for anyone who’s ever joined in.

Luke Humphries, I Predict a Riot by Kaiser Chiefs

Humphries used to walk on to Cake by the Ocean by DNCE, and crowds never really took to it. In 2024 he switched to the Kaiser Chiefs, a Leeds band and a Leeds United terrace favourite, and the arenas finally had something to sing.

By then he’d already won the big one. In the January 2024 world final, Cool Hand Luke trailed a 16-year-old Littler 4-2, then won five sets in a row to take the title 7-4 and climb to world number one. My Luke Humphries t-shirt shows him with the trophy that night.

Nathan Aspinall, Mr Brightside by The Killers

Every darts crowd knows every word, and that’s the problem for The Asp. Aspinall has admitted he’s started to hate Mr Brightside, which only makes the crowd sing it louder. It’s the karaoke anthem of the darts calendar, whether he likes it or not.

The song soundtracks a proper fairytale. Aspinall was at Q-School in 2018, reached the World Championship semi-finals that winter, won the UK Open in 2019, then fought back from a career-threatening injury to win the World Matchplay in 2023. The Nathan Aspinall t-shirt is my tribute to that rise.

Phil Taylor, The Power by Snap!

The greatest player of all time got his nickname from a CD case. At the 1995 World Matchplay in Blackpool, Sky’s production team decided Taylor needed a name, and the Snap! track gave them one. The Power stuck, and so did the song.

Sixteen world titles later, those opening bars are the most famous intro in darts. Taylor has retired from the tour, but when he walked out at the World Seniors at the Circus Tavern, the place still went up.

Chris Dobey, Hey Jude by The Beatles

Hollywood spent years walking on to Let’s Get Ready to Rumble by PJ and Duncan. In 2025 the Bedlington thrower and lifelong Newcastle fan switched to Hey Jude, the song Toon fans sing at St James’ Park. “It’s the song that Newcastle United fans sing,” he explained, and crowds took to it straight away.

It’s a walk-on that crosses two of my ranges. Beatles fans will want The Beatles t-shirt, inspired by the Abbey Road cover, and Toon fans can find Shearer, Robert and more in my Newcastle United t-shirts.

Daryl Gurney, Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond

No walk-on gets strangers linking arms faster. Superchin’s choice is a wedding disco classic, and at the darts it turns a full arena into one big swaying singalong. You don’t need to know a thing about the Northern Irishman to join in, and that’s the genius of it.

Gerwyn Price, Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice

The Iceman was always going to walk on to Ice Ice Baby. The 2021 world champion has tried a few others over the years, and the crowd made it clear they preferred the original. These days it comes with a twist, cued up by the opening of The Who’s Baba O’Riley before the Vanilla Ice bassline drops in.

Peter Wright, Don’t Stop the Party by Pitbull

Littler isn’t the only Pitbull fan on the tour. Snakebite’s walk-on is less a song than a show, with the dance moves, the outfits and a different painted hairstyle every night, done by his wife Jo. The two-time world champion has always played to the crowd on the way in, and Don’t Stop the Party is the perfect excuse.

Which darts walk-on song gets you singing?
